Kyra VDR is a self taught artist based in Ontario, Canada, whose work explores the intersection of emotion, colour, and character. Her practice is rooted in building immersive visual worlds she can escape into, where imagination becomes both refuge and authorship.

She creates vivid, character driven compositions that move between softness and intensity, inviting viewers into intimate, constructed realities. Alongside this, her work is informed by traditional painting techniques, grounding her practice in observation while maintaining a distinct expressive voice.

Central to her work are the Siamimi, cosmic feline figures originating from the imagined planet TYR. At first glance familiar, they reveal themselves as otherworldly through shifting colour, galaxy like eyes, and an underlying sense of quiet narrative, suggesting presence, memory, and transformation.
